A Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and social media star, funny girl Haley Kalil has more than 15 million followers between TikTok and Instagram keeping up with her every move. (I loved her video poking fun at the way her mouth automatically opens when she applies mascara. Who else can relate?) One of her moves this summer is a partnership with Dr. BRANDT Skincare to launch a limited-edition kit for those who aren’t getting enough sleep. Here, Kalil chats with us about her beauty routine, summer plans and more.
What is your go-to eye cream?
“My favorites are in this new Dr. BRANDT Team No Sleep kit. I use the Fatigue Fighting Eye Gel first, and then I use the No More Baggage gel-cream. Once the first is dry, I apply the second. I have used this duo for a few years now. No More Baggage was actually one of the first eye creams I tried, and I fell in love with it. I just like how this duo makes my under-eyes look, especially after makeup application. One of my biggest insecurities growing up was my dark circles. It’s been something I’m on a mission to fix. The Team No Sleep Kit, combined with a layer of my favorite concealer, really makes me feel confident and brighter. It also looks way better in pictures! It isn’t a miracle worker—you still need sleep to have perfect under-eyes. But, it is a great teammate in making sure you look better than you would have without it.”
Some experts say you don’t need eye cream. What are your thoughts?
“It isn’t one of the ‘necessary’ products, but it sure does make a difference. Every skin-care product we use and love doesn’t always need to be a necessity. The same way I don’t need to eat candy every night, but I do, because I like it.”
Any fun plans for the rest of the summer?
“I just want to spend time with my friends and family doing fun stuff outside! The weather in NYC is so beautiful right now, so I’m trying to convince my parents to come to NYC for the first time. Minnesotans never leave! I also have tons of fun work plans and projects that I can’t wait to share—when the time comes of course.”
